Light a Candle
Laura Thompson was loved deeply by many. She grew up in Tuscumbia, AL and went to Muscle Shoals High School and then later graduated in 2004 at Deshler High School. After high school, she went to the University of North Alabama where she majored in Health & Nutrition with a minor in marketing. She graduated UNA with the class of 2009. Her parents were Sandra and Mike Thompson and older brother, Matt Thompson. Laura experienced a wonderful life and crossed paths with so many. Everyone that met Laura immediately fell in love with her. Later in Laura's career she decided to work with FEMA. She ended up in New Orleans and was doing very well working at Worley Catastrophe Services. While living in New Orleans, she met the love of her life, Chad Laborde. Laura soon found out she was pregnant and her and Chad were about to have the perfect family. Laura delivered a healthy, beautiful baby girl on Thursday, July 26th. She named her Kaylee Jane. Laura had to deliver Kaylee Jane by c-section. Later Laura had complications. On Saturday, August 4th at the young age of 32, Laura passed away. God had different plans in mind for Laura. Laura gained her angel wings on 8/4/2018 and Kaylee Jane will always have the most beautiful and brave guardian angel to look down on her and protect her. Laura has left so many that loved her dearly here on Earth, but God made certain that a new form of Laura would be here to take her place while Laura is in Heaven looking down on her. Kaylee Jane is already loved by thousands because of who her mother was. This page is dedicated to Kaylee Jane so we can share all the funny, loving memories and pictures of her mother with her. One day when she grows up she can scroll through these stories and learn about her brave, beautiful mommy at her own pace. I love you Laura and know Kaylee Jane will be taken care of and loved by thousands. Fly High!
